Students will be given an overview of the process of setting up and updating a blog using a static site generator application.
Topics covered:
- Initial config and setup
- Free & paid hosting options
- Selecting & setting a pre-made theme
git
version control- CI Runners
- authoring content using Markdown
Audience: Anyone unfamiliar with Static Site Generators, including those who would like to publish their SCA research, documentation, journals, class handouts, profiles, etc, on a personal blog.
Trivia: this website is built using the Hugo static site generator and is hosted on GitLab Pages for free. The only thing I’ve paid for is the custom domain name registration, but that is entirely optional.
